My chickadee website theme: I see black-capped chickadees outside my window and on walks everyday. I feel more joy and connection in my life because of them. Connecting with nature can help ground and regulate us and help us feel a greater sense of belonging and safety.

Black-capped chickadees:
- hide seeds and other food items to eat later in different spots -they can remember thousands of hiding places
- allow brain neurons containing old information to die every autumn, replacing them with new neurons so they can adapt to changes in their social flocks and environment
- have calls that are complex and language-like, communicating information on identity and recognition of other flocks as well as predator alarms and contact calls
